Full Job Description
Context

Within an engineering consulting firm, the landscape architect designs and integrates sustainable landscape developments for linear projects and other types of infrastructure. They ensure the visual and ecological harmonization of infrastructure with its surroundings, promoting ecosystem resilience, sustainable stormwater management, and social acceptability. The role involves design, coordination of plans and specifications, construction oversight, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Landscape Design and Visual Integration: Develop landscape integration concepts tailored to linear corridors and their rural, urban, and peri urban contexts. Propose solutions that mitigate visual, noise, and ecological impacts.
  • Nature Based Solutions and Applied Ecology: Integrate greening, renaturation, and ecological restoration approaches, including vegetative slope stabilization, riparian buffers, windbreak hedges, pollinator friendly plantings, wildlife corridors, and management of invasive alien species (IAS). Propose layouts that enhance ecological connectivity and climate resilience.
  • Stormwater and Soil Management: In collaboration with engineering, design sustainable stormwater management solutions (detention basins, vegetated swales, bioswales).
  • Plans, Specifications, and Costing: Prepare layout and planting plans, quantity take offs, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Visual Impact Assessments and Social Acceptability: Conduct visual integration analyses and photomontages, define mitigation measures, and participate in public engagement processes.
  • Construction Monitoring and Quality Assurance: Support oversight of landscape works: plan compliance, materials control, layout and staking, plant protection, planting windows, irrigation, and post installation monitoring. Develop maintenance guides, acceptance criteria, and warranty protocols.
  • Project Management and Interdisciplinary Coordination: Plan budgets, schedules, and resources across mandates, ensuring effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Personal and soft skills :
  • Pragmatic creativity, aesthetic sensibility, technical rigor, and results orientation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and facilitate stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong organization, autonomy, priority management, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
