Role description:We are seeking a qualified and motivated Intermediate Landscape Architect to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of landscape architecture projects, working collaboratively with internal teams, clients, consultants, and stakeholders. This position is well suited to a professional with strong design, technical, and communication skills who is committed to delivering high-quality project outcomes.
Role accountabilities:- Contribute to the design and development of landscape architecture projects from concept through detailed design
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed landscape designs for parks, streetscapes, public spaces, trails, institutional facilities, and mixed-use developments.
- Prepare drawings, renderings, presentations, specifications, and technical documentation
- Conduct site assessments, field investigations, and landscape analysis.
- Assist with contract administration and construction phase services, as required
- Assist with site planning, grading design, planting design, and construction detailing
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, external consultants, clients, and stakeholders
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site visits
- Support project delivery through effective organization, documentation, and quality control
- Support cost estimating, quantity take-offs, tender documentation, and contract administration activities.
- Review construction progress, perform site inspections, and prepare field review reports.
- Ensure project deliverables comply with municipal standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, municipal agencies, and project partners
Qualifications & Experience:- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from a recognized university
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Intermediate Landscape Architect, or 6 years of progressive experience in landscape architecture
- Registered Landscape Architect or eligible for registration with the Alberta Association of Landscape Architects (AALA).
- Strong knowledge of site planning, grading, planting design, landscape construction, and contract administration.
- Experience preparing construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Understanding of municipal standards, approvals, and permitting processes within Alberta.
- Knowledge of Construction Completion (CCC) and Final Acceptance (FAC) certificate requirements
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Valid Alberta driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
- Required Technical Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, LandFX
Working knowledge of SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, In-Design, etc.)
Additional Experience in Lumion, V-Ray, Enscape will be considered and asset

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
