Context & EnvironmentThe Landman position maintains land rights and supports business objectives by negotiating agreements, evaluating title and ownership issues, and ensuring compliance with lease and contractual requirements. Contributes to business development opportunities, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint venture activities as required.
- Manage land functions for assigned assets, including lease acquisition, lease maintenance, title review, title curative, and landowner relations.
- Negotiate and administer oil and gas leases, amendments, surface use agreements, rights-of-way, joint operating agreements, farm-in/farm-out agreements, and other land-related contracts.
- Review title information, ownership reports, and title opinions to determine working interest, net revenue interest, and drilling ownership requirements.
- Coordinate with Legal, Land, and Operations to resolve title defects and ensure timely support of drilling and development activities.
- Monitor lease obligations, continuous development requirements, and contractual commitments to maintain Company land tenure.
- Work closely with geoscience and operations teams to evaluate development opportunities and identify leasehold risks and opportunities.
- Participate in acquisition, divestiture, and joint venture evaluations, including land due diligence and commercial assessments.
- Process and evaluate AFEs, election notices, and other joint interest matters in accordance with applicable agreements.
- Maintain productive relationships with mineral owners, working interest partners, operators, and external stakeholders.
ActivitiesResponsible for managing land and commercial activities associated with assigned U.S. oil and gas assets. Supports asset development and value creation through lease acquisition, contract negotiation, title analysis, land tenure management, and partner relations. Works closely with Operations, Geoscience, Legal, Land, Business Development, and Finance to ensure proper management of the Company's leasehold interests and contractual obligations
Candidate ProfileEducation/Experience:- 5-10 years of oil and gas land experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Business, Petroleum Land Management, or related field preferred.
Skills:- Experience in U.S. shale plays and unconventional resource development.
- Offshore Gulf of America experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of oil and gas leases, title analysis, joint operating agreements, farm-in/farm-out agreements, and other industry contracts.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
