The
Land Analyst supports the Senior Landman in managing land-related activities across the company's West Texas assets. This role plays a key part in analyzing oil and gas agreements, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and ensuring accurate execution of land documentation and obligations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working across both field and corporate teams to support ongoing operations, transactions, and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities - Assist Land Team with review of various types of oil and gas agreements
- Assist/draft/compile documents, agreements, correspondence
- Research/compile internal/external well proposals/joint operating agreements and related agreements
- Prepare and review various surface related oil and gas agreements to assist field Landmen
- Receive/analyze and communicate to extended team members for outside operated authorizations for expenditure
- Responsible for internal document execution input, routing, and delivery
- Identify/maintain and assist in contractual obligations
- Liaison type functional role between field land operations and internal land operations
- Assist in multiple acquisition and divestiture type initiatives
- Prepare, track, follow up and report out to Land Team on well/work over proposals
Skills/Requirements- Bachelor's degree required (Energy Management, Business, Finance, or related field preferred)
- 2-5 years of relevant land, legal, or oil and gas industry experience
- Working knowledge of oil and gas agreements and land practices
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, GIS and land systems (e.g., Enverus, LandVantage, or similar preferred)
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Detail oriented and capable of producing results in time constrained situation
- Adaptable to changing business needs and requests
- Acquisitions and divestitures experience
- Surface fee / easements / ROW acquisition and maintenance experience
- Project management skills; ability to deliver results in a performance driven and team-oriented environment
- Ability to work with other departments and work with counterparts in other companies
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting onshore U.S. assets, particularly in the Permian Basin / West Texas
- Familiarity with title, curative, and ownership concepts
- Exposure to acquisitions and divestitures
