Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As the Laboratory Quality, Compliance/Education and Safety Specialist for UCLA West Valley Medical Center laboratory, your primary duties will include:
• Maintaining quality system essentials across multidisciplinary laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with licensing, accrediting, governmental, and credentialing agency requirements.
• Leading training sessions to promote compliance and quality excellence.
• Reviewing quality data, proficiency testing activities, and validation plans.
• Providing technical reviews for the laboratory and UCLA Health.
• Conducting assessments and audits.
• Developing and implementing new policies, processes, and procedures.
• Investigating nonconforming events to identify systemic issues.
• Analyzing data trends for risk management and process improvement.
• Assist with the CLS student program, continuing education and CLS career track programs, department staff orientation, and the safety program.
Salary Range: $119,700.00/year - $272,700.00/year
Job Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience coordinating quality assurance, compliance, and educational activities within a clinical laboratory setting.
• Proven ability to manage deviations and implement effective corrective actions.
• Strong project planning and execution skills.
• Demonstrated experience in writing procedures, reports, and documentation for regulatory and operational use.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead training and educational programs.
• Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license and/or ASQ certification (CQA or CQM) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
