Overview
Responsibilities
The Laboratory Director is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the laboratory, effectively establishing a shared vision and strategic plan for success.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Facilitates the execution of strategies for continual development and improvement initiatives to expand and strengthen the laboratory9s position in the market place.
- Drives and maintains strong relationships with internal and external clinical providers and groups to support business operations, financial profitability, and resource management.
- Documents and analyzes progress, tracking of deliverables and identifying cross-functional accountability.
- Maintains and provides in-depth knowledge of laboratory activity.
- Ensures the highest standard of pathology processing services are maintained.
- Provides oversight and management for all laboratory and testing service functions, equipment, and vendor relationships.
- Manages relationships for collaboration with cross-functional partners to ensure shared success.
- Maintains laboratory standards and ensures compliance across all channels.
- Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional level knowledge of business administration and laboratory operations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Licensure/Certifications/Education
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor9s degree in healthcare administration or similar related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience required.
- Prior experience in the healthcare or pathology industry is highly desirable.
