Job Description:

This role is an opportunity to shape how technology helps customers address skilled labor challenges-making it easier to onboard operators, authenticate users, coach performance, and improve day-to-day jobsite execution. Role Summary:

The Labor & Operator Management Technology Application Specialist leads the site-level customer requirements, prioritization, scope to drive customer adoption and utilization of technology solutions that address skilled labor constraints and improve operator effectiveness across construction jobsites. This role focuses on Operator Management capabilities including authentication, access control, operator profiles, onboarding workflows, coaching, performance visibility, and integration with onboard and offboard systems. The role also supports documentation and communication of best practices and to-be states on customer onboarding onto technology platforms, and the evolution of onboard AI assistant capabilities that guide operators, supervisors, and dealers toward safer, more productive, and more efficient jobsite outcomes.

What You Will Do (Job Duties):
  • Own the Site-level customer application strategy for Labor and Operator Management technologies, translating customer pain points into clear requirements, adoption priorities, and field-ready solutions. Ths includes a lead role for requirements related to Operator Management capabilities including operator authentication, access control, operator profiles, machine settings, operator performance and operator-tagged data workflows. This could expand into Operator Curriculum in the future.
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert on customer and dealer onboarding onto technology platforms by defining practical setup workflows, enablement materials, data readiness needs, subscription dependencies, and success measures.
  • Partner with product, digital, commercial, dealer, and field teams to validate end-to-end customer workflows and customer-back priorities across onboard machine systems, VisionLink, mobile experiences, back-office reporting, and future AI assistant interactions.
  • Define and communicate customer value propositions for skilled labor solutions, including faster operator onboarding, improved operating consistency, safer behaviors, reduced machine abuse, and better productivity.
  • Represent the voice of the customer in roadmap discussions for onboarding, operator experience, onboard AI assistant, operator dashboards, coaching, notifications, and future jobsite integration capabilities.

  • Products and Services: Understands Caterpillar technology solutions, operator workflows, VisionLink capabilities, and how onboard and offboard systems create customer value.
  • Customer Focus: Builds deep understanding of customer jobsites, skilled labor challenges, onboarding barriers, and operator productivity needs to shape practical solutions.
  • Technical Excellence: Applies knowledge of machine systems, telematics, authentication methods, operator data flows, mobile workflows, and back-office reporting to support end-to-end solution readiness.
  • Design Thinking: Uses customer-centered methods to define onboarding journeys, simplify operator experiences, test field workflows, and improve usability.
  • Emerging Technologies: Evaluates AI assistant concepts, connected jobsite capabilities, operator guidance tools, and future human-machine collaboration opportunities.
  • Influencing: Aligns product, digital, commercial, dealer, and field stakeholders around common customer requirements, priorities, and execution plans.
  • Change Management: Supports adoption of new operator workflows by preparing enablement materials, communicating value, and helping customers transition from manual processes to technology-enabled operations.


Top Candidates Will Have:
  • Strong understanding of construction jobsite operations, operator workflows, and skilled labor challenges.
  • Experience applying technology solutions in customer or dealer environments, with emphasis on adoption, onboarding, workflow design, and measurable value creation.
  • Working knowledge of Operator Management concepts such as authentication, access control, operator profiles, coaching, performance dashboards, and operator-tagged data.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional product, digital, commercial, and field teams while representing customer and dealer needs.
  • Curiosity and practical experience with AI, onboard guidance, mobile workflows, and emerging technologies that improve operator effectiveness and customer outcomes.

  • Relocation is not available.

  • Position required 5 days per week on site when not traveling.


Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
