Description

SAIC has an opportunity for a Lab Systems Engineer to join an elite Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) team in Chantilly, VA. We need a proactive, detail-oriented systems engineer with polished communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate contributes to the success of the government and the SAIC team by:

  • Providing technical and programmatic support to the government for all lab activities
  • Providing subject matter expertise to customer leadership on emerging technologies and initiatives related to space systems capabilities
  • Advising customer and enterprise leadership on efficacy of planned lab initiatives (cost, schedule, performance, and risk)
  • Advising customer leadership on operational efficiencies, including systematic and innovative allocation of limited resources (e.g. personnel, power, space, and cooling)
  • Representing customer in evaluating impacts to site architecture driven by capability changes; assesses innovative concepts and emerging lab capabilities for potential transition onto operational baselines

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated current polygraph
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or relevant field and three (3) years or more experience, Master's Degree in STEM or relevant field and one (1) year or more experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise across full systems engineering lifecycle and project management
  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Basic understanding of DevOps, DevSecOps concepts, Agile development
  • Polished communicator (written/verbal), impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment, confident presenting analysis and recommendations to all levels of government
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to operate effectively with contractor, SETA, FFRDC, and Government teammates
  • Expert user in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio)
Desired:
  • Understanding of IT and cybersecurity principles, including cloud operations and layered defense
  • Active cyber certification at IAT Level 2 (i.e. Security+ CE)
  • Experience developing staff products (briefings, analysis) on short deadlines (8 hours or less)
  • Experience supporting senior government officials

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
