Key Account Managers - Utility Solutions are responsible for driving strategic growth within key power utility accounts by developing executive-level customer relationships, leading complex sales initiatives, and delivering innovative utility solutions. Our Corporate Account Managers are the face of Siemens, and your ability to engage engineering, planning, and operations stakeholders while collaborating across cross-functional teams will help customers modernize their infrastructure and achieve their operational goals,
As a Key Account Manager - Utility Solutions, you will: - Own sales performance associated with strategic power utility accounts in North Carolina, inclusive of IOUs, IPPs, and EPCs.
- Articulate technical value propositions to engineering, planning, and operations stakeholders within strategic power utility accounts.
- Lead cross-functional sales processes supported by product, engineering, operations, finance, and legal teams, internally and externally.
- Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives requiring executive-level customer engagement.
- Contribute to Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and maintain excellent pipeline/account plan hygiene.
- Provide guidance in strategic and annual planning cycles.
You will make an impact with these qualifications: Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related STEM field.
- 2+ years of experience in sales within the utility, energy, or infrastructure sectors, OR a strong engineering background with a proven problem-solving mindset and a passion for creating customer solutions.
- Experience selling to, or working with, an IOU, IPP, EPC, and/or public power ecosystems, demonstrating a solid understanding of the key players and manufacturers in the utility world.
- Executive-level communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both engineering departments for solution development and purchasing departments for deal closure.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong network among IOUs, renewable developers/IPPs (utility-scale solar, storage, wind), EPCs, and regional engineering firms.
- Self-motivated and solution-oriented, with a proactive approach to managing accounts and taking responsibility for customer success.
- Prior experience selling engineered-to-order solutions or complex hardware/software utility products. Expertise in specific product lines within the utility sector is highly valued.
- Experience with account planning platforms or market intelligence tools, and a track record in large deal or multi-year framework agreement sales cycles.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships, understanding that trust and effective communication are paramount to success.

The pay range for this position is a base salary range of $156,794 with uncapped commission, and first year total compensation expectations of $200,000. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
