About the Role
Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Key Account Manager interested in further developing and driving our flavor ingredient portfolio in the Texas / Midwest territory. This position will be responsible for maintaining and growing existing account relationships as well as identifying and developing new business opportunities to support our growth objectives. This includes revenue & GM management, cross-team collaboration, and project management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manages and drives Sales and Gross Profit at defined accounts within the Sales Territory to achieve and exceed annual sales and profitability budgets. Ensuring all financial and supply chain metrics are maintained and improved. (Including but not limited to inventory levels, trading terms, incentive schemes, lead times, risk management etc.)
  • In conjunction with Director of Sales ensures development and execution of winning account strategies (CDP) for a defined territory in line with IGP initiatives and Symrise capabilities. Ensures communication and alignment of strategic plan with business support functions (Category, Marketing, Technical). Identify and exploit new business opportunities and develop clear action plans with milestones
  • Maintains a high level of direct call frequency in order to build multi-level relationships to key decision makers and strong customer intimacy. Brings in Senior Management as required and map and articulate various decision matrices with the organization (both local and internationally as appropriate).
  • Develops hands-on application knowledge of Division's products, key technologies and competencies and actively seeks and articulates ways in which to successfully and sustainably position our products within the customers brand and product portfolio, built into a customer value proposition.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of all required reports, including but not limited to expense reports, quarterly reports, budgets, monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts etc.


About You
Required Qualifications
  • BS in Chemistry, Food Science or related field or BA in business, MBA a plus.
  • 10 years experience in sales and key account management at least 5+ of which must be within technical sales. Flavor ingredient sales is strongly preferred and will be prioritized.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Able to prioritize, plan, organize and follow through on projects.
  • Strong leadership skills. Able to motivate and enroll people that are not his or her direct reports.
  • Able to adapt to different cultural situations and link with key customer contacts at all levels to ensure timely, accurate information flow within Symrise.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Consistently displaying a high degree of energy and entrepreneurial drive across a range of subjects and disciplines.
  • Ability to travel both by land and by air throughout the Texas and Midwest area about 50% of the time.
  • Must live and have had recent relevant experience within the Texas and Midwest market to be considered.
