Job Description:

What’s the role

As the Key Account Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in enabling Products Trading to maximize delivery of end-to-end value, within all key USA markets across commodities. The job holder will work in partnership with the Regional Trading Lead to enable delivery of key mandates. This role will work with a team of professionals with capabilities across Deal Making, Channel & Risk Optimization, Pricing, Sales and Supply Chain Business Development in USA, and must bring a focus on ensuring seamless integration to deliver against key performance metrics serving the cross-book, while at the same time seeking to drive long term improvement across the region.

 

This role serves as the sales lead for all commercial accounts purchasing unbranded fuels across the region, with responsibilities that include not only maintaining and deepening relationships with existing customers but also proactively originating new business opportunities. You are expected to operate within the strategic framework established by the regional trading lead, ensuring that your efforts to acquire new accounts and grow current relationships are fully aligned with broader regional objectives.

 

This position is remote location, a virtual role.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Own the customer interface and developing strong, relationships with commercial accounts to build and reinforce Shell’s presence in local markets
  • Take responsibility for planning and supporting and ensuring alignment with the integrated commercial team. You are expected to approach these objectives holistically, leveraging collaboration across teams and integrating regional commercial strategy into customer-specific plans. This role is designed to contribute to the overall integrated book for the region. Performance will be measured by the effectiveness in supporting the integrated commercial strategy and enabling value delivery across the book, rather than being specifically targeted on individual volume or margin outcomes, in recognition of the nature of the P&L
  • Serve as the focal point for local markets, gathering and relaying pricing discovery, market intelligence, customer RFQs, and competitor insights to the broader commercial team, ensuring real-time awareness of pricing and liquidity in the physical markets
  • Champion market expertise in assigned business areas, leveraging market information and customer feedback to maximize business opportunities
  • Collaborate with traders to design and implement tailored deal structures for commercial accounts, enhancing customer value and supporting the acquisition of new business for Shell
  • Oversee the complete deal life cycle, including exposure management, accurate deal entry, and post-deal activities, ensuring compliance and operational excellence throughout
  • Work closely with the customer operations team to ensure customer satisfaction, service excellence, and process optimization
  • Partner with credit, supply, and operations teams to balance business growth with risk management, and maintain/improve customer relationships
  • Collaborate across organizations and supply chains to optimize commercial barrels and support strategic business objectives
  • Engage with other Shell businesses (COBs) to serve customers seamlessly and share new opportunities

 

What you bring

This position is contingent upon the closing of a deal transaction

 

What we offer

 

The base salary range for this position is $124, 000 - $186,000 per year.  Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.

 

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.

 

Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives.  For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.  Additional information on Shell’s US benefit programs can be found at https://www.shell.us/careers/about-careers-at-shell/rewards-and-benefits.html.
