Kind of Work Professional, administrative and supervisory work assigning, reviewing and evaluating the activities of a group of social service and wellness staff providing services to incarcerated or detained youths; providing direct counseling services to incarcerated youths; reviewing and evaluating social services practices of the facility; analyzing and reporting on unit activities and accomplishments; generating periodic statistical reports; training workers in the problems of incarcerated youths and consulting with other officials to coordinate procedures. Work also includes developing new practices and programs to counsel, refer, place and/or rehabilitate individuals; coordinating youth participation in social service programs; and responding to inquiries from family members; training staff in counseling methods and practices and serves as a member of treatment teams. The position will also act in the capacity of the Director in his/her absence and will be on rotation for on-call duty and weekend work; and related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications - Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.*
- Seven (7) years of professional experience in the field of Social Work, Child Welfare, Probation or Penology providing group home, community or school based services which have included social work case management. At least two (2) years of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
- Possession of Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.*

Kind of Examination A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
