Full Job Description
Overview

CVP is looking for a sharp, driven Senior Capture Lead to own and accelerate our business development efforts within one of the most mission-critical markets in federal contracting: Veterans Affairs. This isn't a background-support role. You'll be at the center of the action, running the full capture lifecycle from opportunity identification to award strategy, and doing it with the autonomy and resources to do it right.

You'll work hand-in-hand with CVP's VA market leads while charting your own course across a fast-moving, high-priority portfolio that directly impacts how our nation's veterans receive care and services. This role is built for someone who thrives on complexity, loves the hunt, and knows how to turn long-range intelligence into winning strategies.

You'll dig into VA's long-term programmatic priorities, rally capability leaders and teaming partners, and craft compelling technical solutions backed by airtight price-to-win analysis. If you're the kind of capture professional who gets energized by big challenges, meaningful work, and a team that knows how to win, CVP is your next move.

Responsibilities
  • Get in early and stay ahead, building relationships with VA stakeholders to shape procurement requirements before they hit the street and positioning CVP as the go-to partner for what's next
  • Hunt, qualify, and build a strong pipeline of both new business and recompete opportunities that fuel CVP's growth in the VA market
  • Own the capture plan from start to finish, driving gap analysis, competitive intelligence, win theme development, and opportunity reviews that keep the team aligned and moving forward
  • Identify the right partners, negotiate the right deals, and build teaming arrangements that sharpen CVP's competitive edge
  • Bridge the gap between capture and proposal teams, ensuring every submission is compliant, compelling, and laser-focused on what the customer actually cares about
  • Stay plugged into the legislative and policy landscape, translating the latest VA priorities and Hill activity into smart, proactive capture strategies
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with VA market leads to make sure every capture move ladders up to the bigger market vision
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of federal capture management or business development experience in GovCon, though we care more about the quality of your wins than the number of years on your resume
  • Deep Veterans Affairs domain expertise, ideally spanning health IT modernization, care delivery transformation, and/or interoperability, but strong adjacent VA experience is absolutely worth a conversation
  • Solid working knowledge of federal acquisition processes and contract vehicles, you know how the government buys and how to position accordingly
  • Established relationships across VA program offices and key stakeholders, or a proven track record of building them fast
  • Strong grasp of VA-relevant legislation and the ability to connect policy shifts to real capture opportunities
  • Exceptional communicator and strategic thinker who can rally cross-functional teams around a shared vision and move things forward
  • Someone who doesn't just tolerate ambiguity, they thrive in it, and can pivot quickly when priorities shift
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred but not a dealbreaker if your experience speaks for itself
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the DC Metro Area; some flexibility may be available for the right candidate
