Full Job Description
Position Overview:
As our Project Manager you will lead projects which involve the design, development, and manufacture of safety and non-safety related equipment and systems used for the remote control of fuel handling systems, specialized reactor inspection and maintenance tooling, process plant systems, and other associated equipment in the nuclear industry.

Your Day to Day as our Project Manager

Accountability 1: Inquiry to Order Phase
  • Coordinate and participate in the preparation of estimates, schedules and proposals as required (including Contract Change Requests)
  • Take the lead on smaller quote/proposal opportunities including holding kickoff meetings, and ensuring proposal deadlines are met
  • Maintain assigned P6 schedules in terms of critical metrics (probability, start date, status, resourcing etc)
  • Ensure budgets and job data is maintained in JD Edwards system


Accountability 2: Order to Remittance Phase (OTR)
  • Formal kickoff meetings
  • Creation and maintenance of appropriate PMO tools (Project Register, Dashboard)
  • Creation and baseline of initial schedule ensuring resourcing matches to approved job budgets
  • Support presentations or in some cases present and report on project status, metrics, issues, risks, and project resource needs
  • Ongoing budget maintenance
  • Schedule updates (in conjunction with the Project Scheduling & Controls Specialist)
  • Customer reporting as required by the contract
  • Internal team meetings
  • Job analytics (cost, quality, schedule)
  • Where required, assist in monitoring project health and performance indicators using earned value methodologies including CPI and SPI
  • Work with Project Scheduling & Control Specialists to ensure schedule integrity and quality
  • Participate in and support overall operational business monitoring and planning (e.g. resources, sales, margins, forecasting, revenue recognition, CAPEX)
  • Participate in coordinating / producing cost or schedule recovery / mitigation plans, as well as monitoring scope creep throughout the project life cycle
  • Proactively identify project risk, analyze solutions, and take decisive action to resolve issues
  • Follow proper project closure process


Security Clearance:

This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited university, along with a minimum of 3 years related experience.
  • Must possess or be working towards Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
  • Strong analytical skills (Excel) and understanding of project costs.
  • Experience using enterprise-level project management and scheduling tools.
  • Demonstrated ability in product or system design and project planning / execution, including development of processes / procedures and process improvements.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Engineering design, team leadership, product design leadership, manufacturing team leadership, commercial operations, project management and / or project planning.
  • Very strong communication, negotiation and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with Primavera (P6)
  • Experience in the nuclear industry is considered an asset but not required.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $75,000 and $109,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
