Key Responsibilities:
- Innovative Design & Problem Solving: Contribute to the design and development of mechanical equipment and systems. Investigate existing systems, evaluate their effectiveness, and propose new applications and improvements to meet mission-critical requirements.
- Collaboration with Experts: Work closely with other engineers to determine theoretical principles and apply advanced analytical methods to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Project Management & Estimation: Analyze tasks, provide accurate manpower and material estimates, and develop schedules to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
- Field Operations Leadership: Take the lead in directing field operations and maintenance for mechanical systems installations, ensuring optimal functionality in real-world scenarios.
- System Evaluation & Optimization: Evaluate operational systems, recommend modifications, and eliminate potential malfunctions or inefficiencies, enhancing system performance and reliability.
- Innovation & Creativity: Design new applications that require creative problem-solving and originality. Develop complex test procedures for equipment that goes beyond existing designs.
- Technical Documentation & Reporting: Guide the production of design fabrication drawings, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and specifications. Draft and maintain technical documentation such as evaluation plans, test results, and technical manuals.
- Quality Assurance: Review and provide technical guidance on drawings and documentation, ensuring that all engineering techniques and specifications are accurately implemented.
Qualifications
Required:
- Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI clearance with a relevant polygraph.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) with 2 years of experience, OR
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with less than 2 years of experience, OR
- High School Diploma with 9 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team of engineers and technical professionals.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear reports and technical documentation.
- Attention to Detail: Able to ensure accuracy and precision in all aspects of engineering design, reporting, and documentation.

Target Salary Range$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
