This position provides support to CGS by representing its legal interests in relation to diverse areas of the law, including contracts, technology, litigation, regulatory, IP and related matters.
Specifically, the Junior Legal Counsel duties may include any of the following legal matters:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and other binding agreements;
- Providing legal advice and guidance on technology contracts/matters;
- Providing legal advice and guidance on outsourcing contracts/matters;
- Providing legal advice and guidance related to intellectual property issues;
- Analyzing statutes, regulations and procedures;
- Working with Human Resources on personnel and employment matters;
- Supervising litigation/disputes handled by outside counsel;
- Advising on compliance matters;
- Assisting on corporate governance matters for a private company comprised of multiple global legal entities, subsidiaries and affiliates;
- Supervising responses to requests for information and subpoenas;
- Communicating independently with outside counsel and representatives of outside agencies;
- Assisting the General Counsel in connection with various matters under his direction and oversight;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements- 3-7 years of relevant experience; preferably (but not required) a combination of law firm and in-house experience.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Requires a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and membership in the State Bar as an attorney qualified to practice law in this state.
