The OpportunityWe are hiring a Junior Protection & Control Field Specialist to support field commissioning and testing activities. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build hands-on experience in substation environments and power system protection.
Responsibilities- Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of:
- Protective relays, RTUs, and communication equipment
- Support testing of:
- Feeders, transformers, breakers, and substation systems
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
- Assist with relay testing (SEL, GE) under supervision
- Collect and document field data and test results
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards
Qualifications- 1-3 years of relevant experience (co-op/internship considered)
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or similar field
- Basic knowledge of power systems is an asset
- Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills
- Safety-conscious and detail-oriented
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel across BC
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
