Job description
Provides interpretation and analysis of complex and critical economic/financial data and participates in the preparation, development, and implementation of financial statements, budget strategies or other financial initiatives.
Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
1. Work with management to lead the team in all accounting related functions.
2. Demonstrate the ability to identify, communicate, and execute opportunities for improvement.
3. Analyze labor, overhead, and purchase price variances.
4. Partner with Operations to improve inventory accuracy and costing processes.
5. Work closely with Management to support audit requests and internal control compliance.
6. Lead and execute timely month-end close procedures in a fast-paced environment.
7. Analyze and assess accuracy of ledger transactions, and drive conversations to understand and resolve issues.
8. Lead Fixed Asset Management - create, track, and report on all fixed asset and depreciation.
9. Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
10. Analyze financial statement variances and investigate discrepancies.
11. Manage Sales and Use Tax reporting process.
12. Manage Travel and Entertainment process and work with team to execute payments.
Candidate skills & requirements
Qualifications:
Education -
Required: Bachelor of Science in Accounting
Experience -
Required: Minimum of 5 years of heavy involvement managing all general ledger related transactions to include, but not limited to: Inventory, Cash, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Sales and Use Tax, Reporting, Fixed Assets, Accruals, Revenue Recognition, and Manufacturing Variances.
Required: Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS.
Strong understanding of manufacturing variances and capitalized inventory.
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical skills and communication skills.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
Highly motivated individual with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
