Position Overview:
We're hiring a Ticketed Maintenance Person for our Fort McKay shop facility. The successful candidate will be a Journeyman Electrician, and preference will be given to candidates who also have a Power Engineering Ticket. This position is responsible for facilities maintenance and preventative maintenance activities, be self-motivated individual and a team player with highly developed organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:
  • Evaluate vendor quotations for validity and provide recommendations for revision or approval
  • Review inspection and repair documents for accuracy, completeness and adherence to scope requirements
  • Track and provide technical input/recommendations on inspection and repair reports
  • Using the CMMS program, maintain a history of all inspections and repairs
  • Contact the appropriate vendors for prompt repairs
  • Follow-up on recommendations for improvement and ensure implementation


Qualifications:
  • Journeyperson Electrician, with preference given to those candidates who also have a Power Engineering Ticket.
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in a facility maintenance related role is mandatory
  • Proficient in computer maintenance management systems
  • Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present effectively
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt with ever changing business needs and implement continuous improvement opportunities
  • Exceptionally strong relationship management skills with a strong customer focus


Important Details:
  • This position is based out of Fort McKay Shop facility on a 7x7 continuous shift
  • Must be willing to obtain 4th Class Power Engineering Ticket on your own time
  • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
  • Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
  • You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted
