Job Description:

Take on a role where your skills and passion keep equipment moving. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic with the BC Mobile Team, you'll troubleshoot and perform running repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and perform preventative maintenance across a wide range of Caterpillar Equipment in both a shop and field environment.

Your work will include:
  • Field diagnosis and running repairs of Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar equipment, in field environment (possibility of remote locations)
  • Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
  • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
  • Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team


Qualifications:
  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification (On-Road & Off Road)
  • Dual Tickets will be an asset
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience in a Field Truck
  • Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver abstract
  • Previous Caterpillar experience is an asset
  • Willingness to participate and complete additional training
  • Self-motivated, computer literate, and safety orientated with the ability to work under minimal supervision

  • Shift is 14 x 14
  • A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, Fitness testing and a Clear Background check) and wear a respirator where applicable
