Full Job Description
The Estimating Coordinator supports the estimating team by coordinating bid documents, maintaining estimate folders and bid records, monitoring tender sites, and helping ensure pricing, tender requirements, and submission materials are organized and up to date. This role helps keep the estimating process moving smoothly from bid review through submission and post-bid support.

The Journeyperson Electrician delivers safe, high-quality electrical service, maintenance, and project work across commercial and industrial facilities in Calgary and area. Working independently or alongside field crews, this role ensures our clients' electrical systems operate reliably and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned service, construction, and project work under the direction of the assigned foreman or management personnel.
  • Execute electrical construction projects including rough-in, wire pulling, terminations, distribution equipment installation, and finishing work on commercial, industrial, and institutional builds, renovations, and tenant improvements.
  • Service, repair, and maintain electrical systems including fire alarm, building automation/controls, lighting, and low-voltage/data systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, control, and power distribution issues across commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Maintain, repair, and replace motor control centers, breakers, switches, switchboards, transformers, motors, fixtures, branch circuit wiring, and BAS wiring.
  • Install conduit systems and complete installations including EV charging infrastructure, lighting upgrades, panel and service upgrades, standby generator and transfer switch connections, and project scopes of varying size.
  • Read and work from construction drawings, specifications, and single-line diagrams.
  • Execute safe shut-down, lock-out/tag-out, and start-up of major building equipment.
  • Provide on-site estimating assistance, identify additional work opportunities, and order required materials.
  • Coordinate with HVAC/R, BMS, and Plumbing crews on integrated service and project work.
  • Operate and maintain a clean, well-inventoried company service vehicle, if applicable.
  • Adhere to all Modern Niagara safety policies and procedures

Must Haves

  • Valid Journeyperson Electrician certification (Alberta).
  • Experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, building controls, and BAS wiring.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Nice to Haves

  • Red Seal endorsement.
  • Previous service-based electrical experience.
  • Experience with EV charging infrastructure installations.
  • Experience with standby generators, transfer switches, or emergency power systems.
  • Building automation system (BAS) programming or commissioning exposure.
  • Experience in institutional or mission-critical facilities (healthcare, data centres, government).
  • Basic estimating experience.
  • Experience working within integrated mechanical/electrical teams.


This is a new position. Expected hourly compensation: $43/hr
