We are seeking a Journeyman Software Developer - Systems Software to support Computer Network Operations (CNO) mission needs. This role is ideal for a hands-on developer with strong programming fundamentals who is eager to contribute to software development, reverse engineering, and vulnerability research in a mission-driven environment.
Position OverviewAs a Journeyman Software Developer, you will design, code, test, debug, and document software components used in CNO-related tools and capabilities. You will contribute to prototype development, support vulnerability research efforts, and help enhance operational software used in high-impact cyber mission environments.
This position offers the opportunity to grow technical expertise while working alongside experienced engineers supporting critical defense and intelligence operations.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain software components for CNO-related tools and capabilities
- Code and debug applications in support of mission-driven software development efforts
- Support prototyping and rapid development of new cyber capabilities
- Assist with vulnerability research and technical analysis of software systems
- Document software design, functionality, and development processes
- Collaborate with senior engineers and mission stakeholders to refine technical requirements
- Work across multiple operating systems and environments to ensure compatibility and performance
- Participate in software troubleshooting, maintenance, and enhancement activities
- Contribute to reverse engineering and technical evaluation of software systems as needed
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems Engineering, or a related technical field and 3+ years of relevant experience
- A Master's degree may substitute for up to 3 years of experience
- Strong proficiency in:
- Experience with assembly language on any processor or platform
- Foundational understanding of software development processes and lifecycle
- Ability to work in fast-paced, mission-focused environments

- Other Intelligence Community mission environments
