What this job involves:As a Stationary Engineer at JLL, you'll be an essential member of our facilities team, working under the direction of the Chief or Assistant Chief Engineers to keep critical building systems operating at their best. This hands-on technical role involves the operation, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems across client facilities. You'll be responsible for ensuring that all building equipment performs within design specifications while maintaining the environmental conditions required by our clients and regulatory standards. This position is attached to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between JLL and the International Union of Operating Engineers 6 Local 39.
What your day-to-day will look like:Perform maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance on all building systems including HVAC equipment, chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAV systems, and air distribution equipment
Inspect and monitor building systems including fire alarm panels, HVAC equipment, and plumbing systems to ensure operations meet design capabilities and client specifications
Interact with Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS) for equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational adjustments
Complete preventive maintenance assignments in a timely manner and document all work accurately within the CMMS system (Corrigo)
Conduct comprehensive rounds and readings of all site equipment including plant HVAC systems, boiler equipment, critical data center infrastructure, emergency power systems, and life safety systems
Troubleshoot electrical systems and distribution equipment including UPS systems, normal and emergency power, lighting systems, and motor controls to isolate problems and perform effective repairs
Maintain and repair plumbing systems including piping, water closets, urinals, flush valves, faucets, and related fixtures throughout the facility
Install, align, and repair equipment such as motors, bearings, seals, valves, and piping systems, and assist other engineers, controls technicians, and vendors with major repairs and installations
Respond to all site emergencies as directed, maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance and repairs, and operate site vehicles safely while maintaining professional appearance and adhering to safety protocols
Required qualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or stationary engineering
Universal CFC (refrigerant) license for handling and recovery of refrigerants
High Rise Fire Safety Director Certification
Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, and air handling equipment
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, single line diagrams, specifications, O&M manuals, and sequences of operations
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose equipment issues down to root cause and perform effective repairs
Proficient use of hand tools, electrical testing equipment, and other trade-specific tools necessary for maintenance duties
Ability to lift equipment, materials, and tools up to 50 lbs and work in various positions including on ladders, catwalks, and in confined spaces
Preferred qualifications:Completion of Local 39 Apprenticeship Program or equivalent trade training
10+ years of related trade schooling or equivalent experience in building systems
Electrical, HVAC, or Professional Engineering license
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications
Previous experience in critical data center environments or mission-critical facilities
Strong customer service skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, teammates, and vendors
Valid driver's license with clean DMV record for operating site vehicles

Estimated compensation for this position:
159,120.00 6 159,120.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
