Full Job Description
We are seeking a skilled journeyman electrician to join our team. The electrician will be responsible for building, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety, efficiency, and quality standards. This role requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Installation: Install, maintain, and repair alternating or direct current circuits, generators, transformers, switchboards, panels, and circuit breakers
  • Troubleshooting: Test electrical equipment/systems to identify faults, malfunctions, and hazards, and execute safe repairs.
  • Code compliance: Inspect electrical installations to insure strict conformance with Illinois Electrician Licensing Guide as well as county and local codes.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • System Upgrades: Install and repair low voltage communication systems and electrical control systems.
  • Documentation: Perform accurate record keeping for all installed and maintained systems
  • Operate forklift as needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Experience working as a journeyman electrician.
  • Have passed a Journeyman Wireman's examination or have been certified as a Journeyman Wireman by an Inside Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee.
  • Strong mechanical ability.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to multitask in a team setting and interact with multiple departments.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, climb heights that may exceed 12 feet and work in various environmental temperature extremes.

This position is a union position; therefore, provisions of the relevant collective bargaining agreement/labor contract apply to the filling of this position.

Base Pay Range:

55.94

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The base salary will depend on a number of factors such as: qualifications, experience level, and skillset.
