Samson Electric is actively seeking experienced, professional, full-time Journeyman Electricians.

Position Summary:

Samson Electric, Inc. is seeking a seeking a qualified Journeyman Electrician with hands-on experience in commercial and industrial electrical work. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the current NEC codebook, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, and the National Electrical Safety Code.

Candidates should be familiar with construction standards and methodologies, particularly in new commercial/industrial builds and commercial tenant improvements (T.I.s). Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, installation manuals, wiring schematics, and sketches, and perform layout work accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in the safety program, including weekly tailgate meetings, completing safety rosters, and instructing apprentices in safety procedures.
  • Use test equipment to identify, troubleshoot, and repair electrical issues.
  • Follow instructions and communicate professionally with foreman and coworkers.
  • Exercise sound judgment and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Order and install materials; document redline changes accurately.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and test equipment to complete tasks.
  • Report to work on time, fit for duty.
  • Promptly report accidents, harassment, suspected abuse, or other concerns to management.
  • Accurately complete time and cost coding records.
  • Stay current on NEC/NFPA, NESC, OSHA codes and standards.
  • Perform work that meets QA/QC and third-party inspection standards.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats.
  • Demonstrate reliability, strong work ethic, and pride in workmanship.
  • Follow camp rules and maintain respectful behavior while working in remote locations.
  • Notify PM, GC, or bunkmate if not returning to lodging; follow check-in/out procedures.
  • Mentor apprentices and support team development.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
  • Represent Samson positively through professional behavior.
  • Be flexible, able to prioritize tasks, and work for multiple supervisors.
  • Uphold ethical standards, including reporting changes in licensing or other concerns.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have valid legal work status
  • Must pass pre-hire Drug & Alcohol screening and comply with company policy
  • Must have a satisfactory criminal background check
  • Valid State of Alaska Certificate of Fitness
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain personal vehicle insurance
