Compass Point an Akima Company is looking for a Joint Training Information Systems Senior Analyst to work at MacDill AFB, FL. 

 

Utilize IT, information management systems, and web-based databases to identify, collect, analyze, store, and disseminate the data required to execute requirements associated with operational planning, range operations, and readiness. Use network technology to capture metrics and supporting data to identify variations from identified standards. Develop reports and inputs to improve the integration and synchronization of Special Operations (SO) capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Principal Advisor on Developing Training Policy: Serve as principal advisor for translating higher headquarters guidance (CJCSI 3500.01K, DoD issuances, and USSOCOM strategic objectives) into actionable training policy and directives; coordinate with Office of the Secretary of War, the Joint Staff, and USSOCOM leadership to develop the Annual Training Guidance (ATG) and support prepotency of USSOCOM Directive 10-1 (USSOCOM Organization and Functions); collaborate with Service Components, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and stakeholders to ensure policy alignment across the SOF Enterprise.
  • Provide Support to Range Capabilities and Challenges: Research and author the Annual Holistic Training Range Assessment (HTRA) Report to evaluate training range capabilities, capacity, utilization, and emerging requirements across the USSOCOM enterprise; participate as member of the J8-led Unmanned Systems (UxS) Range Access Working Group to remain current on cutting-edge technologies, access constraints, and integration challenges; identify capability gaps and deliver actionable recommendations for range modernization and resource investment.
  • Provide Expert Analysis on Training and Operational Readiness: Analyze the intersection of training policy and range infrastructure to ensure strategic guidance translates into executable training solutions; review and update training-related directives to address evolving operational requirements, technological advancements, and range access remedies; advise USSOCOM leadership on policy adjustments needed to optimize range utilization, enable experimentation and evaluation, and enhance SOF Enterprise readiness.
Qualifications
  • Active Secret Clearance Required, Able to obtain Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant area (military studies, anthropology, IT, education, operations research, analytics, et.al.), or the combination of specialized training, education, and experience (including military service) equivalent to a degree and required years of experience may be acceptable.
  • Recent relevant military experience supporting position requirements.
  • High degree of understanding a staff officer role with HQ USSOCOM, a Service HQ, or a CCMD HQ (4-Star military HQ).
  • Understanding and knowledge of the missions, core activities, roles, and functions of USSOCOM and its components and Sub-unified Commands.
  • Demonstrated expertise in range operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in oral and written communications.
  • Possess knowledge in strategic-level planning (e.g., operational design, JOPP, campaigning, and contingency plan development, etc.).
  • Has familiarity with using the following systems and tools: JTIMS, DRRS, JLLIS, and MS Office
  • Contractor personnel must have proficiency and relevant experience with one or more of the applications and specialized tools identified in Table below (Applications and Specialized Tools).
