The Joint SOF Trainer (Operations and Planning) IV will support MARSOC G-7's determined exercises based upon the MARSOC Commander's Exercise Campaign Plan.
Responsibilities may included but are not limited to:
- Plan for, support, and participate in requisite Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) events.
- Be prepared to support OCONUS exercises to include planning and execution events.
- Lead/participate in internal exercise design process.
- Coordinate with SOF/CF exercise planners.
- Coordinate exercise scenarios with SOF/CF exercise force.
- Conduct research using SIPR/TS networks on real-world current operations IOT develop relevant exercise scenarios. Incorporate MARSOC Commander's Campaign Framework in exercise design.
- Develop SOF vignettes that meet Exercise Force Training Objectives and help drive overall scenario.
- Develop and foster strong integration with the Service (FMF/HQMC) and other Combatant Command and Service Partners to create unified action across the Joint battle space.
- Develop SOF Common Operating Picture (COP), encompassing both live and synthetic SOF, based upon real-world laydowns in furtherance of exercise scenarios; ensure SOF COP is incorporated into the overall exercise COP.
- Develop scenario OpOrds, WarnOs, FragOs to drive exercise scenarios.
- Develop synthetic SOF CONOPs and Storyboards to drive scenarios.
- Draft Level 1/2/3 data, input into Joint Training Tool (JTT).
- Manage exercise injects, storylines and vignettes.
- Provide on-call scripting and dynamic adjustments.
- Capture exercise participation data to develop after action reports and lessons learned.
- Serve as a member of a notional higher or adjacent headquarters during exercise execution. Develop and brief products to be presented at the SOTF (O-5) or JSOTF (O-6) levels to exercise participants. Be prepared to brief as a staff member of a SOTF/JSOTF.
Work Environment:
- Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).

Travel:
- 21-49% / Regular Travel.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree with 10 years experience in SOF //OR// Associate's degree with 15 years experience working in SOF //OR// prior (E8-E9, CW4-CW5, O4-O6) with 15 years experience working in SOF.
- Current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Minimum 10 years of operational-strategic special operations experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of recent experience serving in a command, senior enlisted advisor, or primary staff billet in a SOF (USSOCOM/TSOC), Service, Joint Staff, OSD, or 3-4 Star level Service/GCC HQs within the past 8 years.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with the Joint Training System (joint exercise planning management).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in joint operations and operational-strategic level SOF planning and operations.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in the Adaptive Planning and Execution System (APEX) and Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP).
- Minimum of 4 years' experience directly interfacing with senior staff (O5/O6 and GOFO) at the TSOCs, Components, GCCs, Services, Interagency.
- Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
- Professional proficiency in English is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license (proof of which will be required after hire) and ability to qualify for and maintain company liability insurance through a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications- Prior Marine Raider.
- Recent experience supporting MARSOC.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in Operational Design.
- 2 years' experience as a platform instructor in a Professional Military Education/training environment.
