Job Captain, Architecture
Toronto, Ontario, Canada (hybrid)
As a Job Captain, you will coordinate project deliverables, prepare documentation, and ensure compliance with design requirements. You will be an instrumental team member who steers projects from feasibility to detailed design development stages, ensuring excellence in design, execution, and client satisfaction. Your role will demand a combination of design, municipal experience along with effective communication skills to collaborate with all stakeholders, ensuring successful project execution and optimal
outcomes. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
What You Will Do
• Leverage BIM to create and refine detailed plans, construction documents, spatial concepts, floor plans, schematics, and 3D models for stakeholder communication.
• Support the design team by providing technical solutions that uphold design intent and building science principles.
• Coordinate project deliverables with external stakeholders, review documents for accuracy and completeness, identify issues, and create solutions to resolve design challenges while upholding design intent.
• Actively participate in meetings, relay critical updates, address stakeholder concerns, and align project execution with established goals.
• Conduct regular reviews of drawings and models to uphold the quality assurance process, ensuring full compliance with stakeholder requirements, building codes, regulations, design specifications, standards, and procedures.
What You Will Bring:
• A Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution in Architecture.
• At least 5 years of progressively more responsible roles within Architecture firms.
• Proficient experience in Revit.
• Experience in SketchUp, Enscape, Twinmotion and Adobe Creative Suite is an asset.
• Working knowledge of applicable building codes and municipal by-laws.
• An understanding and experience of the municipal approval process.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and effective problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role, with 2 days in the Studio.
What We Will Provide:
The expected hiring range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000 annually. This hiring range falls within a broader salary band established for the role. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.
