Jira Administrator Responsibilities Include:
- Optimizing workflows, managing user access, ensuring security configuration, and maintaining the overall health of Jira, Jira Align, and Confluence environments.
- Acting as a key liaison, bridging communication between technical teams and the developer community.
- Supporting of Naval projects at Dahlgren, VA that will help with growing systems & software engineering team and contribute to our diverse skillsets across multiple software contracts in support of our Software Center of Excellence.
- Ability to perform analysis and problem-solving techniques in support of professional scientific/engineering work
- Ability to work independently and with others within established teams, across organizations, to meet established goals within schedule driven timelines.
Area Tasks- Jira Administration: Customize and maintain complex Jira workflows, statuses, transitions, validators, and post-functions. Configure and manage project boards, custom fields, and screen schemes to meet business requirements.
- Confluence Administration: Manage Confluence space permissions, site structure, and content organization. Develop and maintain templates to ensure consistency and ease of use.
- Jira Service Management Administration: Customize and maintain customer portals, request types, screen, fields, and automation rules. Configure and manage Asset Object Schemas including access control to specific object types, automated imports, and Asset Query Language (AQL) queries. Integrate Asset Objects with workflows, custom fields, and automations in Jira Projects.
- Jira Align Administration: Customize and maintain complex Jira connections between Jira Align and Jira. Ensure the Jira Align Programs and maintained and functioning to meet business requirements.
- User & Access Management: Administer users, groups, and project roles across all Atlassian products to ensure appropriate and secure access level.
- System Maintenance: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to workflows, user permissions, and overall system performance to ensure a stable and efficient environment.
Minimum Qualifications:- 1-5 years of hands-on experience in Atlassian tool administration (Jira and Confluence).
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and experience with Jira.
- JQL Proficiency: Ability to write complex and efficient JQL queries.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges effectively.
- Organization: A methodical approach to maintaining clean data, efficient workflows, and orderly space structures.
- Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
- Candidates must maintain a valid Real ID drivers license required for access to customer site (a driver is not an option) and have access to reliable transportation as this position requires occasional travel between local worksites during the week.
- Effective communication skills/ Candidate must possess excellent communication skills and interact directly with customers and engineering personnel.
Preferred Qualifications: Certifications are a plus- • Scripting & API: Familiarity with Groovy for Script Runner or experience using the Jira REST API for custom integrations.
- DevOps Tools: Experience connecting Jira with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, or GitLab.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or other applicable technical field
Compensation Details:US: $70,000 to $110,000
