Job Description: Java Team Lead (TS/SCI with CI Poly)
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Java Team Lead to lead a technical team in delivering high-quality software solutions. This role combines strong technical expertise with Agile leadership responsibilities, including PI Planning and Scrum execution. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers on daily tasks and technical direction
- Facilitate PI Planning, Sprint Planning, and other Scrum ceremonies
- Break down features into tasks, assign work, and track progress
- Design, develop, and review complex Java-based applications and services
- Ensure high code quality through code reviews, testing, and best practices
- Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and other teams to deliver on commitments
- Remove technical and process blockers for the team
- Provide technical guidance and support career growth for team members
Qualifications
Requirements:
- 7+ years of software development experience with strong expertise in Java
- Proven experience as a Tech Lead or Team Lead
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, including PI Planning and Scrum
- Strong knowledge of task decomposition, sprint planning, and team coordination
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly (required)
- Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and modern development practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Preferred to Have:
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Knowledge of microservices, Spring Boot, or related Java frameworks
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Prior experience in government or clear environments
