Job Summary
The Lead Software Engineer V (Software Application Architect) will provide technical leadership and hands-on engineering expertise for complex, enterprise-scale applications. The role will focus on Java and Spring development, cloud-native solution design, event-driven microservices, and enterprise architecture across AWS or Azure environments. The ideal candidate will lead multi-team technical initiatives while remaining deeply involved in implementation, architecture, integration, and delivery.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience as an Architect, Technical Lead, Consultant, or Software Engineer with a strong focus on hands-on implementation.
• 10+ years of deep hands-on experience with Java and Spring development.
• Strong proficiency in Java SE and Java EE.
• Extensive experience with Spring Framework, including Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
• Strong understanding of Java programming concepts, design principles, and development best practices.
• Strong experience developing RESTful web services using the Spring Framework.
• Experience designing and implementing event-driven microservices architectures.
• Strong experience with AWS services and cloud-native solution design; Azure experience is also acceptable.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
• Strong understanding of Git and version control practices.
• Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Highly skilled in SQL development and database management.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
• Healthcare domain experience, including HL7 and FHIR.
• Experience building healthcare or public health data pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with QA automation and automated testing strategies.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, Amazon SQS, or Amazon Kinesis.
• Experience with containerized or serverless architectures.
• Experience with NoSQL databases or large-scale data platforms such as Databricks.
• Proven ability to learn new technologies and apply research to ongoing projects.
