Job Summary We are seeking a skilled
Java Kafka Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance, event-driven applications using
Java,
Apache Kafka, and
Spring Boot. The ideal candidate will have experience building scalable microservices, real-time data streaming solutions, and distributed systems. You will work closely with architects, backend developers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable event-driven applications.
Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain Java-based event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.
- Develop producers, consumers, and stream processing applications.
- Build scalable microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
- Design and implement Kafka topics, partitions, replication, and consumer groups.
- Integrate Kafka with databases, REST APIs, and third-party systems.
- Develop asynchronous messaging solutions for enterprise applications.
- Monitor Kafka clusters and optimize message throughput and latency.
- Troubleshoot Kafka performance issues and application bottlenecks.
- Implement fault-tolerant and highly available messaging architectures.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
- Build automated unit and integration tests.
- Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Java development.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
- Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8/11/17).
- Experience with Spring Boot and Spring Kafka.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Strong SQL and database knowledge.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and messaging patterns.
- Experience with Git and version control.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Kafka Streams or ksqlDB.
- Knowledge of Apache Avro and Schema Registry.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with Redis or caching technologies.
- Knowledge of event sourcing and CQRS architecture.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
