Accountabilities- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

What will you be doing?
Barclays Services Corp. seeks Java Developer - Markets Post Trade in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):
- Develop and Enhance Big Data System using Java and related technologies.
- Write shell scripts that process files or execute Java, Scala, Spark programs written for Big Data Processing and regular processing.
- Participate in requirement analysis, Agile Scrum Methodology, and regular application code review sessions.
- Analyze and transform very high volume of real time XML messages received over IBM Message Queues (MQ).
- Implement data ingestion solutions from various sources and processes using Big Data technologies which involve data transformation, filtering and loading into HDFS and HBase.
- Design and implement static code analysis and code coverage solution using SonarQube, JaCoCo, Maven and TeamCity.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to understand and analyze impacts due to trade data, feeds and financial impact on the business.
- Provide retrieval mechanisms for both live data-in-rest.
- Participate in requirement analysis and effort estimation.
- May telecommute pursuant to company policy [Hybrid].
Minimum Salary: $189,592 per year
Maximum Salary: $195,000 per year
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
