Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Directs the development and execution of long-term IT strategies to support the university's mission, academic goals, and operational objectives
- Manages the daily operations of IT systems, services, and infrastructure to ensure reliability, security, and efficiency across the institution
- Oversees the planning, execution, and evaluation of complex IT projects, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and stakeholder needs
- Builds partnerships with academic and administrative units to align technology solutions with user needs and improve institutional effectiveness
- Champions the adoption of emerging technologies and innovative practices to enhance teaching, learning, research, and administrative functions
- Establishes IT governance structures and ensures compliance with data privacy, cybersecurity standards, and applicable regulations

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Knowledge of IT governance, infrastructure, enterprise systems, and service delivery models within complex organizations
- Knowledge of information security best practices, data governance, and regulatory frameworks such as Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), or General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- Skill in overseeing large-scale, cross-functional projects, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and performance evaluation
- Ability to lead diverse teams, manage organizational change, and drive digital transformation initiatives
- Ability to build effective relationships with academic, administrative, and technical stakeholders to align technology with institutional goals
Minimum Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 10 years of relevant experience
- 4 years of supervisory experience
- Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered

Additional Details The ITS Director of Enterprise Applications is expected to maintain a regular on-campus presence and serves as a key technology leader, providing strategic oversight of the university's enterprise application portfolio, including the critical systems and platforms that support academic, administrative, and research functions. Areas of responsibility include web hosting and digital experience platforms, custom-developed applications, student information systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions such as Workday, ServiceNow, and other institution-wide application ecosystems.
This role is responsible for defining and executing a cohesive, forward-looking application strategy that aligns technology investments with the university's strategic priorities. The Director develops and maintains multi-year roadmaps for enterprise applications, ensuring scalability, integration, security, reliability, and a high-quality user experience for students, faculty, and staff. The position drives modernization efforts, oversees platform selection and lifecycle management, and fosters innovation through the thoughtful evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies.
As a key member of the ITS senior leadership team, the Director partners closely with academic and administrative leaders to understand evolving business needs and translate them into effective technology solutions that advance the university's mission. The role requires a balance of strategic vision and operational excellence, with a strong emphasis on governance, stakeholder engagement, organizational change management, and cross-functional collaboration within a dynamic and highly collaborative environment.
