an IT Systems and Infrastructure Engineer III to join our team
located in headquarters, Boise, ID. This position will serve as a senior technical expert with advanced expertise in development, implementation, and maintaining complex systems. The successful applicant will provide leadership in design, enhancement, implementation, and consultation on complex enterprise systems.
Infrequent nights and weekends are required to provide operations with support for off-hours maintenance completion.
Please note: Criminal background check is required for this position.EXAMPLE OF DUTIES - Provide technical support and software expertise for Windows servers to ensure that they operate accurately and efficiently in response to user requirements
- Install applications, diagnose, and resolve system problems, test software, and document operating procedures
- Provide HS/Windows systems support in a production environment
- Support and configure Team Foundations Server (TFS) and CRM for Software Development Lifecycle support for ITO
- Provide resolutions for hardware and software problems
- Research and analyze root causes
- Coordinate remedial actions (e.g. backups, maintenance fixes, etc.) with vendor and/or operations personnel
- Review monitoring logs for problem identification and suggested resolutions
- Plan, conduct, and report tests with appropriate staff
- Monitor and provide daily reports on system performance to pinpoint performance bottlenecks
- Provide technical input to evaluate alternative methods
- Create and implement custom-written PowerShell/batch scripts to automate and streamline processes
- Create and maintain comprehensive operational infrastructure documentation including scripts, documentation, and procedures
- Provide cross-training and instruction to peers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Considerable knowledge of:
- Current information technology trends and capabilities
Experience:
- Planning, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting network, server or storage systems
- Resolving network or server problems
- Working with end users to develop and implement information technology solutions for user computing needs in a business environment
- Experience as a technical lead implementing or supporting network, server or storage systems
MQ Specialties:
- Experience with scripting languages in a large production environment
- Experience in application integration with multi-tier application architecture
- Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting enterprise-level computing environments
- Experience designing, analyzing and maintaining high-availability (HA) server environments
- Experience designing and supporting Disaster Recovery solutions
- Experience with cloud computing architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Experience conducting cross-training in relevant support technologies
Desired Qualifications:
- In depth knowledge and experience in Windows Servers 2012/2016/2019/2022/2025 configurations, administration, and performance management
- Experience and expertise in VMware ESX virtual servers on UCS and/or HP Blade hardware
- General knowledge and understanding of databases, applications and web servers gained through server administration in the Windows environment
- Experience developing complex PowerShell/batch scripts
- Experience and expertise with Windows/IIS, .NET frameworks and system administration services
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve critical software and server issues
