Roster may be used to fill like vacancies for the next 120 days Salary Range ($89,508-$138,370)Yearly Job Open Date 8/11/2026 Job Close Date 8/18/2026 Senior Systems Administrator & Technical Advisor Serve as the lead technical authority and Senior Systems Administrator for the organization's enterprise infrastructure. In this vital role, you will maintain operational control of high-consequence systems, provide hands-on technical guidance to IT specialists, and serve as the principal advisor to management on state-of-the-art technologies and system advancements. Key Responsibilities - Senior Systems Administration: Manage, configure, and maintain complex enterprise systems to guarantee maximum uptime, high availability, and operational integrity. - Technical Guidance & Mentorship: Provide advanced instruction, troubleshooting guidance, and technical support to enterprise system users and fellow IT Specialists. - Strategic Technology Liaison: Interface directly with manufacturers, industry professional organizations, and counterparts at other installations to evaluate state-of-the-art technologies and product advancements. - Executive Technical Advisory: Formulate and deliver strategic recommendations to senior leadership on network integrations, system upgrades, and technical lifecycle planning. Qualifications: - U.S. Citizenship - Obtain & maintain Top Secret Security clearance - This is a designated Drug Testing Position - Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable) - Cyberspace qualification is a condition of employment per DoDM 8140.03. Failure to maintain the proper foundational and residential qualifications may result in removal from this position. Recruitment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices for integrating information system components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and administer computer systems, and optimize system performance. 2. Knowledge of the latest advancements in technology to initiate corrective or preventative action to ensure optimum performance of the system. 3. Knowledge of performance tuning tools, database management, and project management methods sufficient to optimize systems performance, troubleshoot database performance problems, and perform a wide range of systems administration functions. 4. Knowledge of operating systems, associated devices, and the interoperability of systems sufficient to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain those systems; to optimize the functionality and performance of systems; and to ensure the availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of servers. 5. Ability to apply methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving systems to solve complex problems, provide support that minimizes interruptions in service to customers, and maintain liaison with industry and other activities to provide awareness of state-of-the-art technology.
