The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN), NH-2210-03, to work at the Air Force Materiel Command, (AFMC) in the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) in the Ogden Air Logistics Complex (OO-ALC) with STAFF/OB at HILL AIR FORCE BASE located in LAYTON, UT. 2026 Salary Range: ($89,508-$138,370) / Yearly with locality

The primary purpose of this position is To serve as a senior information technology (IT) specialist in system analysis and applications software design and implementation. Projects typically involve feasibility studies to determine requirements for developing entirely new or making substantial modifications to existing applications software; and the analysis of large, complex information systems which are characterized by the need for substantial problem analysis.

- The employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include overtime, and/or days, swings, or owl shifts.

- The employee may be required to work during base exercises, contingencies or emergency situations.

- The employee may occasionally travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft IAW Joint Travel Regulations to other government installations, contractor facilities, or other commercial Locations for both training and mission accomplishment.

-DoD Cyberspace Workforce Framework (DCWF) Qualification is a condition of employment. According to DoDM 8140.03, Chap 4, Para 4.4.1, personnel may be subject to administrative action if they do not obtain or maintain foundational requirements within nine months of assignment to a DCWF coded role.

Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of IT systems analysis and applications software concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate new and emerging IT security methods and principles, the feasibility of proposed new systems and applications software projects; and to design, write, test, debug, and maintain information systems and applications software and ensure successful integration with existing and anticipated infrastructure in the database environment.

2. Knowledge of IT system application software and systems development life cycles, including systems documentation, system requirements and techniques, design development, configuration management, cost benefit analysis, systems analysis, unprecedented design methodologies, data administration, systems integration, and testing.

3. Knowledge of IT management information systems and applications software technology to isolate causes of problems between hardware, system, and applications software programs and to measure system performance and/or extend operating system capabilities to support organizational business processes and operations.

4. Knowledge of IT management information systems requirements and application software development techniques required in carrying out project assignments of considerable difficulty and with little specificity regarding approach to be followed.

5. Ability to gather facts and use analytical and evaluative methods to assess requirements; apply CASE tools to design and development processes; deviate from traditional methods; and solve a variety of complex or intricate computer software problems.

6. Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements.
