Summary

Duties

Help

  • Review and modifies, for technical accuracy, database objects for use in applications or for impromptu situations.
  • Oversee the extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of sources such as XML data files, flat files, and relational data sources.
  • Provide input for determining technical goals, leads projects that improve the general support environment, and works with other members of the database support team to resolve difficult problems.
  • Monitor the systems and maintenance routines, providing input for planning and developing new policies and standards for use of the supported products.
  • Serve as a technical expert in the design, implementation and maintenance of an enterprise data warehouse.

Qualifications

For all IT positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: designing enterprise databases to support applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability; planning and installing upgrades of database management system software to enhance database performance; developing data models for applications, metadata tables, views, and related database structures; implementing automated data integration and data transformation (ETL) solutions to meet business requirements; and, provide technical support and guidance to junior database administrators or specialists.
