The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader responsible for the end-to-end architectural design and strategic implementation of our most complex and high-profile innovative data initiatives. This role requires deep technical mastery to support, build, and enhance Dow's Azure Databricks Lakehouse Platform.

You will be critical in shaping the data landscape, ensuring our architecture is reliable, cost-effective, and ready to power advanced, high-impact applications across the business, including:
  • Mission-Critical Machine Learning (ML) Solutions
  • Real-Time and Streaming Data Consumption
  • Generative and Agentic AI Systems
  • Advanced Reporting and Enterprise-grade BI

As a Software Engineer, you will own and manage a portfolio of digital solutions and practices, guiding them through their full lifecycle-from analysis and design to implementation, adoption, optimization, and end-of-life retirement. Your goal is to deliver advanced functional and business capabilities that accelerate Dow's digital transformation.

You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary IT team-including analysts, designers, developers, and support specialists-to deliver innovative, user-centric solutions. A key responsibility is to orchestrate functional and technical requirements analysis, focusing on experience, simplification, automation, efficiency, and reliability.

What You'll Do
  • Strategic Design & Scoping:Lead the end-to-end technical design and scoping of high-impact projects. You will translate ambiguous business challenges into clear, efficient, and scalable solutions with robust architectural blueprints.
  • Technical Mentorship & Code Quality: Serve as a primary technical mentor for Associate and mid-level Platform Engineers, elevating the team's overall skillset. You will establish coding standards, perform complex code reviews, and drive the adoption of solution designs and best practices across all skillsets.
  • Solution Design & Delivery Excellence: Architect and deliver advanced Azure cloud data solutions that optimize performance and cost through scalable architectures, efficient resource utilization, and proactive resolution of complex bottlenecks-ensuring reliability, agility, and minimal compute expense.
  • Strategic Alignment: Work closely with the Senior Solution Manager to evaluate new technologies, define work processes, and make strategic decisions that align data platform capabilities with the company's long-term IT and corporate strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with a wide range of data professionals-including Data Engineers, Data Scientists, AI/ML Engineers, and Business Analysts-as well as non-technical business partners to define requirements and deliver data products that meet high-stakes analytical needs.
  • Architecture & Deployment Ownership: Take ownership of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure components in Azure DevOps/Git, championing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure highly reliable, automated, and secure system deployments.
  • Service Leadership: Fulfill service or practice manager responsibilities for IT, following the ITIL framework to deliver value.
  • Requirements & Experience Mapping: Analyze business and functional requirements; map user journeys, UX, and user stories to enhance employee and customer experience.
  • Solution Lifecycle Management: Own end-to-end lifecycle-design, architecture, integration (buy vs. build), development, testing, adoption, and retirement.
  • Delivery Excellence: Support both waterfall and agile methodologies; ensure successful implementation and user adoption.
  • Performance & Support: Define supplier and team support models; monitor SLA, OLA, and KPI compliance and act on deviations.
  • Integration & Optimization: Coordinate with other managers for end-to-end process integration and optimization.
  • Roadmap & Innovation: Define improvement and innovation roadmaps; assess resources, technology, and investment needs.
  • Thought Leadership: Foster a community of solution experts and act as a domain thought leader.
  • Resource & Financial Management: Assist with workload analysis, capacity planning, and lifecycle cost management.
  • Strategic Enablement: Partner with stakeholders to support M&A activities as needed.
