Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly qualified IT Solution Architect for Order-to-Cash Systems to spearhead the transformation of our OTC technology landscape. The successful candidate will be working in a team of Solution-Architects to design, enable or lead to the enablement of IT capabilities, according to technical roadmaps, and providing expert alignment and support to Architecture and Service Owners. A significant aspect of this role involves technical leadership in projects or product enhancements in line with business requirements. This position entails oversight of order-to-cash systems, management of end-of-life transitions, and ensuring seamless integration across all supply chain processes. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in supply chain IT and SAP systems (ECC, S/4 (as for an upcoming upgrade), GTS or comparable processes).

This role demands a level of leadership skills to functionally direct agile teams of seasoned SAP Senior Analysts responsible for delivering project solutions and minor enhancements. The team is complemented by external partners and consultants who contribute to solution delivery and support within a DevOps framework.

The selected candidate will be entrusted with responsibility for leading the design, delivery, and support processes, ensuring achievement of objectives and adherence to compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align OTC system initiatives with the broader IT OTC landscape guided by a leading Architect by creating technical design from functional requirements and user stories.
  • Taking Leadership of agile teams that group temporarily, consisting of IT sales or Logistic Execution experts (internal and external to execute technical design, enhance and support the solution to Corning's and industry standards.
  • Support the creation and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive roadmap for sales systems (specifically SAP ECC) to ensure scalability, efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for enhancement within OTC technologies and processes, emphasizing business value through advanced process mining tools such as SAP Signavio.
  • Coordinate enhancements with the IT PMO regarding the transition of end-of-life systems, aiming for minimal disruption and the smooth deployment of new solutions.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers in a technical consultant capacity, serving as a liaison between software vendors and internal IT teams. Build a lively network with subject matter experts inside of Corning.
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for sales processes, offering insights to SAP SMEs and contributing to continuous improvement and delivery initiatives.


Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of practical experience working with SAP OTC modules related to sales, specifically SAP SD and LE, SAP GTS or trade compliance processes.
  • Sound understanding of how OTC flows end to end, processes and integration between OTC/ RTR/RTP and PTP Streams.
  • Documented success in designing and implementing end-to-end SAP sales (OTC) solutions and processes, and enhancements.
  • Ability to temporarily lead teams of 5 members as part of (agile) projects.


Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Advanced degree (MBA or MS) preferred.
  • Certification or demonstrated proficiency in utilizing BTP extension technologies (no-coding)
  • Exposure to S/4 and ECC is an advantage. S/4 Certification is an advantage.
  • Exposure to Variant Config is preferred, and Exposure to Mill products is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated abilities in design thinking and problem-solving.
  • Experience with supply chain IT processes, system integrations, and IT delivery and support procedures.
  • Knowledge of process mapping, process mining, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Clean Core, RISE methodology, and experience using Cloud ALM.
  • Interest in stepping into SCRUM master role as a development path/interest in preparation for an upgrade to S/4.
  • Proficient communication and collaboration skills for working with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies and trends within sales and supply chain sectors.

The range for this position is $108,010.00 - $148,514.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
