Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Engineer to help secure the organization's infrastructure, communications, and data. This role is responsible for implementing, operating, and continuously improving security controls across on-premises and cloud environments. The Security Engineer works closely with the IT Security Manager and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure systems are designed, deployed, and maintained with security best practices in mind. This position is hands-on, technical, and focused on execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the organization's cybersecurity posture. This position is full-time and based in the Kansas City, Missouri area.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5+ years of hands- on experience in cybersecurity, systems administration, network engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Experience administering and supporting enterprise security technologies such as firewalls, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure), including core security concepts and services.
  • Experience with scripting or automation using tools such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices (e.g., least privilege, defense in depth, zero trust).
  • Experience creating or maintaining technical security documentation and procedures.
  • Professional certifications in cybersecurity, networking, or cloud technologies are preferred.
  • Telecommunications or service provider industry experience is a plus.
