Full Job Description
IT Security Administrator

Location: Remote - Anywhere in Canada

The total target compensation (TTC) range, including salary and target bonus, is $64,800 - $100,440. This TTC range is applicable to permanent roles only. The actual base salary offered within this range will be determined by the successful candidate's skills and experience, as well as internal equity.

Fixed-term contract and casual roles are not eligible for annual bonus and would receive only the base salary component.

Empire Life is looking to hire an IT Security Administrator to join our IT team! We are actively seeking candidates to fill a current, open position.

What you'll be working on
  • Maintains detailed security provisioning knowledge for a complex multi-platform, multi-cloud, environment, including Windows, Linux, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
  • Review, validate, authorize and process access security and profile requests for all internal and external users within a diverse application architecture
  • Maintain the integrity of information technology by providing input and expertise into the development and implementation of security processes and procedures
  • Provides primary troubleshooting support to users on network and computer desktop security related issues
  • Performs all security tasks related to identity validation on various systems and applications
  • Communicates with the Manager, IAM on an ongoing basis to maintain a current and correct understanding of security policy, legal, compliance issues and technical security standards
  • Generates reports for access control validations
  • Provide input and assistance into project implementations as required

What we're looking for you to have
  • Completion of a community college diploma, with courses in network technologies, operating systems, programming languages and database management
  • 0-3+ years work experience in computer system administration, implementation and integration
  • Experience with centralized directory services, including Active Directory or Entra ID
  • Experience with ITIL practices in a service desk environment is an asset
  • Security Plus, Comptia (A+, NET+, Security+) are considered assets
  • Ability to think logically, analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to learn new technology
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail/accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
