IT&S Application Trainer I

Full-time / 40 hours per week / Hybrid schedule

Onsite Location: 1077 Gorge Blvd, Akron, OH 44310

Summary:
Serves as an enthusiastic, innovative, and collaborative information technology educator who is adept in both instructional design and training delivery.

Supports the IT&S training program and its goals, including creating synchronous and asynchronous content, curriculum and materials maintenance, schedule coordination, ILT facilitation, and service request/incident response. In conjunction with the application analyst teams, equips end users for successful Epic (or other software) deployment, adoption, maintenance, and optimization activities.

Familiar with both end user workflows and cultivates an awareness of the backend build that allows for this functionality. Interfaces with and serves as liaison and change agent to operational customers. In an ongoing effort to identify training needs and address them, regularly rounds in their operational departments, engages in division and analyst meetings, and embeds self in project team activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Formal Education Required:
a. Bachelor's degree in education, information technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

2. Experience & Training Required:
a. Two (2) years of experience to include education and training experience on computer related software applications and experience working with personal computers, educational training databases, and direct experience with education
b. Achievement of Epic Certification within first 6 months of employment
c. Existing credential in an Epic application preferred
d. Instructional design experience

3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Skill in interpersonal communication to effectively interact with users on various software and non-technical problems
b. Skill in written communication to compose materials for end-users
c. Knowledge and skill in work processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, e-mail and scheduling applications, and ability to acquire additional skills as necessary
d. Knowledge of Clinical or Administrative applications along with current Summa practices, must be kept current to maintain high level of educational assistance in constantly changing environments.
e. Broad knowledge and understanding of current workflow and design decisions made with application enhancements
f. Maintains confidentiality of patient, employee and financial records
g. Ability to present course materials in classroom and one-on one environment using adult learning techniques to effectively convey information in an appropriate manner to users with a variety of skill levels from novice to power users
h. Ability to work well within team environment by accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback; by supporting team goals and encouraging other team members; and by collaborating with departmental team members to consolidate work, solve problems, create new methods and/or reduce costs
i. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity

4. Level of Physical Demands:
a. Light: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously

$34.00/hr - $50.99/hr
The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
