JOB DESCRIPTION
About the role
As an IT Project Manager, you’ll lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects that move the business forward — from software implementations and infrastructure upgrades to system integrations and digital transformation initiatives. You’ll guide cross-functional teams, manage timelines and budgets, mitigate risk, and deliver high-quality IT solutions aligned with business needs. It’s a role for someone who pairs technical acumen with disciplined project management (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) and thrives on clear stakeholder communication in a fast-paced environment.
- Project planning & execution —Lead end-to-end delivery of IT projects, including software implementations, infrastructure upgrades, system integrations, and digital transformation initiatives. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocations, and budgets; define scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders; and ensure adherence to project-management methodologies (Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid).
- Stakeholder management —Serve as the primary point of contact for business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors. Communicate project status, risks, and key milestones to executive stakeholders, and facilitate alignment between technical teams and business objectives.
- Team leadership —Coordinate cross-functional teams including developers, engineers, business analysts, and third-party vendors. Drive accountability and performance through clear roles, responsibilities, and deliverables, and foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented team environment.
- Risk & issue management —Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively. Manage issues, dependencies, and escalations to minimize impact on timelines and deliverables, and develop contingency plans to ensure project continuity.
- Financial & resource management —Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls. Optimize resource utilization across multiple concurrent projects, and track actuals versus plan, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Governance & reporting —Establish and maintain project governance frameworks. Monitor project KPIs (schedule adherence, budget performance, quality metrics) and prepare and deliver regular status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
Must-haves
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- 5 610+ years of project-management experience focused on IT or technology initiatives, with a track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects on time and on budget.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, the software development lifecycle (SDLC), and infrastructure environments.
- Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience with project-management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and executive-presentation skills, with the ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
Nice-to-haves
- PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM) / PMI-ACP, or ITIL certification.
- Experience with enterprise system implementations (ERP, CRM, cloud platforms).
- Exposure to cybersecurity, data analytics, or digital transformation programs.
- Experience working in global or multi-site environments.
- Compensation —Competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus.
- Health & wellness —Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Retirement —401(k) with company match.
- Time off —Paid time off, holidays, and parental leave.
