Full Job Description
TAMKO is seeking an IT Project Manager at one of its major locations. This role is responsible for managing IT projects and may also entail management of programs or suites of similar projects.

  • Plan and manage assigned IT projects from initiation through closeout, applying approved PMO standards, tools, and governance.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, cybersecurity, data, architecture, and vendors to define project scope, objectives, budgets, schedules, and deliverables aligned with business needs.
  • Identify, document, and actively manage project stakeholders, ensuring expectations, roles, and responsibilities are clearly understood.
  • Engage the Project Champion throughout the project lifecycle by securing project charter approval, providing regular status updates, and jointly preparing executive communications to enable effective leadership, advocacy, and decision-making.
  • Ensure project requirements are clearly defined, documented, reviewed, approved, and controlled, maintaining traceability between business requirements, technical solutions, and delivered functionality.
  • Maintain detailed project plans that accurately reflect current status, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths, enabling effective control and timely, actionable performance reporting.
  • Develop and maintain required project artifacts such as business requirements documents, functional specifications, architecture diagrams, and integration documentation necessary to define and deliver IT solutions.
  • Proactively manage changes to project scope, cost, schedule, and benefits through approved change control processes, minimizing risk and unintended business
  • Coordinate the effective utilization of assigned project resources by working with Technical Resource Owners, IT functional teams, and vendors to sequence work, clarify responsibilities, and manage day-to-day execution.
  • Monitor and control project performance, meeting defined targets for schedule, cost, quality, risk, and security.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project-level risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints; resolve issues within the project team and escalate when decisions exceed project
  • Ensure appropriate governance is followed, including required reviews, approvals, documentation, and compliance with enterprise standards.
  • Plan and execute project communications, providing clear and timely updates to stakeholders, Portfolio Managers, and the Enterprise PMO (EPMO).
  • Provide accurate and timely project data to support portfolio reporting, including status, forecasts, resource needs, and financial performance.
  • Coordinate vendors and system integrators to ensure delivered solutions meet functional, security, reliability, performance, and operational readiness requirements.
  • Conduct project closeout activities, including after-action reviews, documentation of lessons learned, and transition of solutions to operations and support teams.
  • Maintain Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or achieve certification within a defined timeframe, and remain in good standing.
