Full Job Description
IT Project Manager for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. The Candidate will lead the operational management and continuous improvement of mission-critical Medicaid technology systems that support claims, enrollment, encounter processing, and payment functions. This role partners with internal teams and external vendors to ensure system reliability, successful implementations, regulatory compliance, and timely resolution of production issues in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Required Qualifications of the IT Project Manager:
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Healthcare, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience supporting healthcare claims, encounter processing, or other healthcare operational systems.
  • Five (5) or more years of project management experience leading enterprise system implementations or enhancements.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience managing third-party vendors responsible for system development or support.
  • AWS Cloud certification(s).
  • Experience leading production support, incident management, and operational issue resolution.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support for critical production issues and system releases.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in highly regulated healthcare or government technology environments.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the IT Project Manager:
  • Experience supporting Medicaid enterprise systems.
  • Knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Understanding of Medicaid eligibility, enrollment, claims, encounter processing, and MMIS concepts.
  • Experience with IT service management or ticketing systems.
  • Experience developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new system implementations.

Responsibilities of the IT Project Manager:
  • Lead daily operations and production support for critical Medicaid technology platforms and supporting applications.
  • Manage production incidents, escalations, and issue resolution while ensuring timely communication and documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, technology vendors, and business stakeholders to support system performance and operational excellence.
  • Oversee release management activities, including implementation planning, readiness reviews, deployment support, and post-release monitoring.
  • Monitor vendor performance, service level agreements, and compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
  • Support change management initiatives by coordinating backlog activities, maintaining operational procedures, and driving continuous process improvements.

Work Location: Columbia, South Carolina (Hybrid). Initial onsite training for approximately 30-90 days. Hybrid schedule of three (3) days onsite and two (2) days remote thereafter, based on manager discretion.
