Role SummaryThe IT Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex, cross-functional IT initiatives across the organization. This role operates as a strategic partner to business and technology leaders, ensuring initiatives drive measurable business outcomes and align with the company's long-term technology roadmap.
The IT Project Manager will oversee multiple high-impact projects, manage internal and external stakeholders (including executive leadership and vendors), and establish strong governance, risk management, and delivery frameworks. This role requires advanced leadership, organizational influence, and the ability to drive transformation in a dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will have the ability to:
- Align enterprise technology initiatives with business strategy and long-term vision
- Lead cross-functional projects spanning IT, operations, finance, and business units
- Drive organizational transformation through technology adoption and process change
- Influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex initiatives clearly to executive audiences
- Navigate regulatory, security, and audit frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2) in a delivery context
Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% for company gatherings or to project sites.
Location: Denver, CO (3 day hybrid in-office role)
Compensation: $130-$150K (Offers Bonus)
Essential ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex IT projects and multiple concurrent projects
- Define and manage project roadmaps, dependencies, and cross-functional alignment
- Establish scalable project delivery frameworks, standards, and best practices
- Drive requirements definition, facilitate workshops, and ensure alignment across stakeholders
- Own risk management strategy, including identification, prioritization, mitigation, and escalation
Governance & Executive Reporting- Establish and lead governance structures (steering committees, executive reviews)
- Deliver clear, concise reporting on project health, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership
- Track and manage financials including forecasts, budgets, vendor spend, and ROI
- Ensure accountability across stakeholders for deliverables and timelines
Vendor & Implementation Leadership- Lead relationships with system integrators, SaaS vendors, and implementation partners
- Evaluate vendor performance, enforce contractual deliverables, and manage escalations
- Oversee implementation strategies to ensure alignment with business needs and IT standards
- Ensure operational readiness, documentation completeness, and smooth handoff to support teams
Change Management & Adoption- Develop and lead comprehensive change management strategies for large-scale initiatives
- Coordinate communication plans, executive messaging, and stakeholder engagement
- Oversee training programs, pilot initiatives, and enterprise rollout strategies
- Define and manage hypercare and post-go-live support models
Education, Skills, and Experience- Degree in a related field (Business, Information Technology, or Project Management) and at least 7 years of experience in information technology project or program management
- 7 years of experience in business technology
- Strong understanding of IT systems, lifecycle management, and vendor coordination
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana)
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar certification is a plus
- Experience in change management and process improvement
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
