JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity

The IT Project Manager - PMO plays a critical role within the Business Technology organization, providing strategic and operational leadership across the Project Management Office (PMO) and enterprise portfolio execution. This role combines advanced program leadership with PMO transformation expertise, driving standardized delivery practices, governance, and tooling-particularly the evolution and execution of the ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) roadmap.

This individual is responsible for shaping enterprise IT PMO strategy, improving portfolio visibility, and enabling data-driven decision-making across IT initiatives. The ideal candidate is a highly experienced IT project management professional with strong strategic planning capabilities, deep knowledge of portfolio management frameworks, and hands-on expertise in portfolio management tools.

What You'll Work On
  • Lead PMO strategy development and execution, including governance frameworks, delivery standards, and operating models aligned to enterprise priorities
  • Oversee the intake, prioritization, and demand management lifecycle for IT projects, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational objectives
  • Drive standardization of project and program management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) across the IT PMO
  • Develop and maintain portfolio dashboards, KPIs, and metrics (e.g., delivery performance, resource utilization, financial tracking) leveraging ServiceNow SPM
  • Define and drive the ServiceNow SPM roadmap, including demand management, portfolio planning, resource management, financial tracking, and reporting capabilities
  • Establish and continuously improve enterprise portfolio management processes, ensuring alignment between business strategy, funding, and technology delivery
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for ServiceNow SPM, guiding configuration, enhancements, and adoption across the enterprise
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems
  • Lead IT PMO transformation initiatives, including process optimization, tool enablement, and organizational change management
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to project managers and PMO resources, fostering a high-performance delivery culture
  • Identify and mitigate portfolio-level risks and issues, acting as an escalation point when necessary
  • Manage vendor relationships, including ServiceNow partners, ensuring successful delivery and value realization
  • Communicate IT portfolio health and strategic insights to senior and executive leadership
  • Drive adoption of best practices in governance, compliance, and regulatory alignment
  • Travel domestically up to approximately 5% as required

Minimum Education/ Experience

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in IT project management, program management, or portfolio management
  • Demonstrated experience in PMO leadership, governance, and strategic planning
  • Proven ability to drive data-driven decision-making through portfolio analytics and reporting
  • Expertise in demand management, portfolio prioritization, and resource planning
  • Ability to manage and balance multiple concurrent initiatives across portfolios of varying size and complexity
  • Strong background in strategic planning, roadmap development, and organizational change management
  • Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, influencing, and executive presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or ServiceNow (SPM or related)
  • Experience using ServiceNow SPM modules (Demand, Project/Program, Resource Management, Financials, Roadmaps) or similar tool
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture and digital transformation programs and process improvement
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with tools such as Jira, SAP, or financial systems
  • Experience managing budgets, financial tracking, and investment planning

The base pay for this position is
$99,300.00 - $198,700.00
