IT Project Manager

***This position requires an active Secret clearance.***

The IT Project Manager will perform cradle to grave IT Project Manager support for Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE), Virginia (VA), Langley Air Force Base (AFB), at the 633d Communications Squadron (633 CS).

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for IT Project Manager: $115,000 - $120,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

IT Project Manager Responsibilities Include:
  • Support IT Enterprise architecture planning, engineering, project management and configuration management to include requirement for maintaining efficient use of network devices, such as switches, routers, and TACLANES for the Air Force/DoD customers.
  • Document the approved requirements process in the CONOPs and provide education and training on the requirements process to Air Force/DoD customers.
  • Evaluate existing projects/requirements and make recommendations to government counterparts as to which should be continued.
  • Continue processing and implementation of existing projects/requirements.
  • Process and track customer requirements, engineer solutions and manage project implementation in accordance with AF Instruction (AFI) 33-103 and AFI 33-104.
  • Develop/Manage Enterprise Master Integrated Schedule, tracking milestones, major projects, completion dates (i.e., Microsoft Project Management type program (Gantt charts)).
  • Support contracts and provide logistics management capability for unit systems (material control, project logistics).
  • Draft Implementation Plan for approved projects and programs.
  • Implement Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Process to support organizational increase on high reliable IT services.
  • Incorporate innovative and emerging technologies that improve not only IT system performance and support but also mission performance.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

IT Project Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Minimum of four (4) of experience in Information Assurance (IA) technology or a closely related area, preferably in a US Air Force, Military or DoD setting
  • Two (2) year college degree in an IT related field
  • Secret level clearance, Active
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Qualified on the standardized theory and operations of networks and information systems evidenced by training degrees, certifications, and experience documented in the resume.
  • Should be a computer systems administrator capable of assisting users with applications or know how to obtain assistance in a timely manner.
  • Understand the interrelationships and capabilities of other standard off-the-shelf software microcomputer software packages (i.e. MS DOS 6.1 and earlier, MS Win7, Vista, and MS Office)
  • Exhibit good communication, briefing, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Display a customer service mindset, with a focus on supporting mission.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
