The Teledyne MEMS facility in Bromont, Québec is part of Teledyne's Digital Imaging segment and operates one of the world's leading pure-play MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) foundries. The Bromont site provides specialty semiconductor and MEMS fabrication services to customers worldwide, supporting applications in medical devices, life sciences, industrial sensing, communications, and advanced imaging. The fab combines deep process expertise with a strong culture of engineering excellence, quality, and continuous improvement, and is a strategic center of semiconductor manufacturing in Canada.

Role Summary

The IT/OT Solutions Architect designs, governs, and evolves the integrated Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) in accordance with Teledyne IT Shared Services Enterprise standards landscape supporting Teledyne's MEMS semiconductor manufacturing operations. With a primary focus on OT (approximately 75%), the architect ensures that fab equipment, manufacturing execution systems, process control, and shop-floor networks are secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned with Teledyne enterprise IT standards. The role starts with the Bromont fab and progressively extends to additional Teledyne manufacturing sites such as Edmonton.

Key Responsibilities

OT Architecture (≈75%)
  • Define and maintain the end-to-end OT reference architecture for the fab: equipment connectivity (SECS/GEM, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, Modbus), MES, SCADA, historians, process data lakes, recipe management, and equipment integration platforms.
  • Architect secure, segmented OT networks aligned with the ISA-95 / Purdue Model (Levels 0-3) and the IT/OT DMZ (Level 3.5).
  • Lead OT cybersecurity architecture aligned with IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and Teledyne security standards - including segmentation, asset inventory, patching strategy, anomaly detection, and secure remote access for vendors.
  • Govern integration patterns between fab equipment, MES, ERP, quality systems, and analytics platforms.
  • Define standards for industrial data acquisition, contextualization, and pipelines feeding manufacturing analytics and AI/ML use cases (yield, OEE, predictive maintenance).
  • Partner with Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Facilities, and Manufacturing IT to translate operational requirements into resilient technical solutions.
  • Evaluate and qualify new OT technologies, vendors, and platforms; lead proofs of concept.
  • Manage OT lifecycle: obsolescence planning, upgrade roadmaps, and change control for equipment-impacting systems.


IT Architecture (≈25%)
  • Ensure alignment between OT solutions and enterprise IT (identity, networking, cloud, endpoint, data, and security domains).
  • Contribute to enterprise architecture decisions where IT systems interface with manufacturing (ERP, PLM, quality, EDW).
  • Support cloud and hybrid integration patterns (Azure preferred) for manufacturing data and applications.


Multi-Site Expansion
  • Establish a repeatable OT architecture blueprint usable across Teledyne fabs.
  • Lead the architectural rollout to Edmonton and future sites - adapting standards to local equipment fleets and regulatory contexts.
  • Build and mentor a cross-site OT architecture community of practice.


Governance & Delivery
  • Produce and maintain architecture artifacts: reference diagrams, standards, design decisions (ADRs), security baselines, integration patterns.
  • Chair or participate in architecture review boards for fab projects.
  • Provide architectural oversight on capital projects, tool installs, and major OT/IT initiatives.
  • Manage technical risk, document trade-offs, and present recommendations to IT and Operations leadership.

  • Certifications: TOGAF, IEC 62443, CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with edge computing, AI/ML for manufacturing, and predictive analytics.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and change management in regulated environments.

Principales responsabilités

Architecture TO (≈75 %)

  • Gérer le cycle de vie TO : planification de l'obsolescence, feuilles de route de mise à niveau et gestion du changement pour les systèmes affectant les équipements.


Architecture TI (≈25 %)
  • Assurer l'alignement entre les solutions TO et les TI d'entreprise (identité, réseau, infonuagique, postes de travail, données et sécurité).
  • Contribuer aux décisions d'architecture d'entreprise lorsque les systèmes TI interagissent avec la fabrication (ERP, PLM, qualité, EDW).
  • Soutenir les modèles d'intégration infonuagiques et hybrides (Azure de préférence) pour les données et applications manufacturières.


Expansion multi-sites
  • Établir un modèle d'architecture TO reproductible, utilisable dans l'ensemble des usines Teledyne.
  • Diriger le déploiement architectural vers Edmonton et les futurs sites - en adaptant les standards aux parcs d'équipements et aux contextes réglementaires locaux.
  • Bâtir et encadrer une communauté de pratique d'architecture TO inter-sites.


Gouvernance et livraison
  • Produire et maintenir les artefacts d'architecture : schémas de référence, normes, décisions de conception (ADR), bases de sécurité, modèles d'intégration.
  • Présider ou participer aux comités de revue d'architecture pour les projets de l'usine.
  • Fournir une supervision architecturale pour les projets d'immobilisations, les installations d'équipements et les initiatives majeures TO/TI.
  • Gérer le risque technique, documenter les compromis et présenter des recommandations à la direction TI et des Opérations.


Qualifications requises
  • Baccalauréat en génie informatique, génie électrique, informatique, automatisation ou domaine connexe (maîtrise un atout).
  • 8 ans ou plus d'expérience en TI/TO, automatisation industrielle ou TI manufacturières, dont au moins 3 ans dans un rôle d'architecte ou de leader technique senior.
  • Expérience approfondie dans un environnement de fabrication réglementé - semi-conducteurs, MEMS, microélectronique, pharmaceutique ou aérospatiale de préférence.
  • Expertise pratique des protocoles et plateformes TO : SECS/GEM, OPC UA, MES (p. ex. Critical Manufacturing, Camstar, Eyelit ou équivalent), SCADA, historiens (PI, Ignition).
  • Solide connaissance des réseaux industriels, de la segmentation et du modèle Purdue.
  • Bonne maîtrise des cadres de cybersécurité TO (IEC 62443, NIST CSF) et expérience pratique du durcissement des environnements industriels.
  • Expérience d'intégration des données TO avec les systèmes d'entreprise (ERP, EDW, analytique infonuagique).
  • Expérience démontrée à diriger des déploiements TO multi-sites ou en site neuf (greenfield).
  • Bilinguisme français / anglais (le site de Bromont est francophone ; la collaboration multi-sites se fait en anglais).


Qualifications souhaitées
  • Expérience en opérations de fabrication de plaquettes de semi-conducteurs et en intégration d'équipements.
